Q: How does the Consultation work?

A: Consultations are either done by email. The consultation is done with a qualified lawyer, and all payments eventually go to the lawyer. LawPàdí does not engage in any fee splitting arrangement or do we work on a paid referral basis, as this is against the Rules of Professional Conduct 2007 for Nigerian Lawyers. LawPàdí does not  provide any legal services here, all we do is match the client with the lawyer.

Q: How much does the consultation cost?

A:The consultation fee is N5,000 for tenants, and N10,000 for Landlords. However, based on the complexity of the issue, the lawyer is free to request a higher amount. The fee is a base rate. You will however not be charged a higher fee if you do not expressly agree to it.

Q: How secure is my information?

A: Any information supplied will be handled with care and the highest levels of security. Any information supplied by you will only be used to administer your relationship with the lawyer we refer you to. We do not sell or trade data with any third parties, unless you ask us to in writing.

Q: Can I obtain a refund?

A:We strive to ensure that the lawyers we refer you to are lawyers with the requisite knowledge and experience to handle tenancy queries and questions. However, if for any justifiable reason you unhappy with the quality of the information provided to you, we will provide a refund of the consultation fee. Please email [email protected] with full details of the reason for the refund request and we will respond within 7 working days. Please note that refunds are only applicable where the consultation never took place as scheduled, or the information provided is totally and wholly incorrect (we will not refund because the information provided to you by the lawyer is not the one you wanted)

Q: Why is the consultation not free?

A: We would like to provide a free service, but this would be unsustainable. The lawyers in our network are of the highest calibre and and the consultation fees stated here are a fraction of what they normally charge. Also, and most importantly – their time is valuable, and therefore they should be compensated for their services.

Q: How long will it take to schedule a consultation?

A: We endeavour to set up a consultation at a suitable time within 48 hours of booking. However, this is flexible based on the availability of the client.
