Question:
what other laws apply to incorporated companies and the incorporation of companies apart from the companies and allied matters Act?
Answer:
At present, the only law which applies to the incorporation of companies is the Companies and Allied Matters Act. However, certain scenarios will involve other laws, for instance if the company is to operate in a Free Trade Zone, the Law dealing with the Free Trade Zone will apply. Also, if the company is a foreign company then a number of other laws will be applicable e.g the Nigerian Investment Promotion Act, the Immigration Act, etc.
